O God of truth, O Lord of might,
Who orders time and change aright,
and sends the early morning ray,
and lights the glow of perfect day.
Extinguish, Lord, each sinful fire,
and banish every ill desire;
and while you keep the body whole,
shed forth your peace upon the soul.
Almighty Father, hear my cry
through Jesus Christ, our Lord most high
Who with the Holy Spirit and Thee
